Renewable Heat Incentive Gets Green Light

replica watches ukAs part of the October Spending Review, the Chancellor - George Osbourne - announced that the Renewable Heat Incentive (RHI) will be launched in June 2011.

The UK currently produces around 1% of its heat from renewable sources but by 2020 the Government hopes this will increase to 12%.

The introduction of the RHI represents over £850m of investment over the Spending Review period. Following the February consultation and in light of the Spending Review announcement, the Department of Energy and Climate Change (DECC) will now further consider the operation of the scheme including RHI tariffs and technologies to be supported. DECC expects to speak to stakeholders in the next few weeks ahead of an announcement on the detailed design of the scheme before the end of the year. Check the website below for further announcements in the forthcoming weeks.
