Who is responsible for the anaerobic digestion portal?
This site was produced and is maintained by the NNFCC. The NNFCC is the UK's national centre for renewable fuels, chemicals and materials. The NNFCC is a not-for-profit company.
Why was this portal produced?
In the Anaerobic Digestion Task Group's Report of July 2009, it stated that greater awareness and understanding needs to be built of the many benefits of anaerobic digestion among potential developers, investors, customers and those involved in planning decisions. As there is a very wide range of publically available information, often specialist in nature, on anaerobic digestion from an equally wide range of sources, the Anaerobic Digestion Task Group recommended development of the new anaerobic digestion web portal to act as a gateway to information on anaerobic digestion technologies for a range of potential stakeholders.
Is this site independent?
Yes. There is no advertising on the AD portal. The site was developed with the support of DECC and Defra but is independent of both. The accuracy of AD portal is maintained by input from a broad range of stakeholders.
